Lipomodelling or fat transfer, is a cosmetic procedure aimed at reshaping your body. This treatment is designed to augment volume in specific areas or rectify contour irregularities. It involves extracting excess fat from areas where it’s naturally abundant through suction, then transplanting it to areas that require augmentation or correction.
Lipomodelling at Medisculpt is fat transfer, which is especially used for depressed scars, afterburns, when there are asymmetries or volume depletion and irregularities. One of the factors which are paramount to be able to use this technique is to have adequate storage, reserves of fat to harvest it from.
This technique extracts excess fat through liposuction from areas like the abdomen or thighs and purifies it before re-injecting it into areas that may benefit from additional volume, such as the face, breasts, or buttocks. Fat transfer offers a natural solution for augmenting or reshaping various body parts, providing a more balanced and youthful appearance.
Find out how Lipomodelling at Medisculpt can improve your well-being, help you achieve the look and physique you desire and boost your confidence!
Lipomodelling offers a natural approach to body contouring and augmentation by using the patient’s own fat. This results in a more organic-looking enhancement compared to synthetic implants, providing a subtle and harmonious transformation.
In addition to augmenting targeted areas, lipomodelling also involves the removal of excess fat from donor sites. This results in a dual benefit for clients, as they can achieve improved contours in multiple areas while simultaneously reducing unwanted fat deposits.
Lipomodelling allows for highly customised results tailored to each client’s unique anatomy and aesthetic goals. By strategically transferring fat to specific areas, surgeons can sculpt and shape the body to achieve the desired proportions and symmetry.
Since lipomodelling utilises the patient’s own fat cells, the transferred tissue tends to integrate well with surrounding tissues and can provide long-lasting results. While some fat may be reabsorbed by the body initially, the remaining fat typically maintains its volume over time, resulting in enduring enhancement.
Lipomodelling at Medisculpt can be performed alone or as a combination to other procedures. For example, Lipomodelling can be combined with the results from a Facelift or Thread Lift. Our surgeon can add volume in a very natural way and improve the tone of the skin. Interestingly, fat has regenerative properties, working well for depressed scars or where there is volume depletion or asymmetries.
Also, lipomodelling can be done in conjunction with implants, referring to hybrid augmentation, where there is a desire to improve the shape, create more padding, a better cleavage or improve rippling. In cases of breast asymmetry or chest wall deformities, lipomodelling can be the perfect solution to helping you feel and look your best. This is a very versatile procedure, which can be used for various indications. With the experience and expertise of our surgeon, survival of the fat grafts has improved, and the results are permanent.
The level of pain experienced during and after a lipomodelling procedure can vary from person to person. During the surgery itself, patients are either under local, general anaesthesia or Sedation with an IV, all dependent on the size being treated. At Medisculpt, we aim for our patients to not feel any pain. However, it’s common to experience some discomfort during the initial recovery period.
After the procedure, patients may experience pain, swelling, bruising, and soreness in the abdominal area. This discomfort is often managed with prescription pain medication provided by your surgeon.
The level of pain experienced also depends on factors such as individual pain tolerance, the extent of the surgery, and the surgical technique used. While discomfort is to be expected during the early stages of recovery, it typically diminishes over time as the body heals. At Medisculpt, we are here to ensure you have a comfortable journey with us, with effective results.
