Belly buttons come in a wide array of shapes and sizes, whether they’re innies or outies. Factors like pregnancy, weight fluctuations, and ageing can all impact the appearance. Belly Button Surgery can reshape the belly button!
If you’re concerned about your belly button and its impact on your self-esteem, Medisculpt is here to help, allowing you to confidently show off your midriff!
In the belly button surgery procedure, your surgeon begins by making a discreet incision inside the belly button. This strategic placement ensures minimal scarring and allows access to the targeted area. Once the incision is made, our surgeon will carefully reduce excess fat and tissue from within the belly button. After the tissue removal, dissolvable sutures are used to delicately close the skin, resulting in a smooth and natural-looking outcome.

Belly button surgery offers you the opportunity to achieve a more aesthetically pleasing belly button appearance. By addressing protrusion caused by underlying fat and reshaping the belly button, the procedure can create a more desirable “innie” appearance, boosting confidence and self-esteem.
The surgery allows for the adjustment of belly button shapes. Whether it’s transforming a horizontal-looking belly button into a more vertical shape or refining its contours, you can achieve a tailored belly button appearance that aligns with your aesthetic preferences.
Following pregnancy or significant weight loss, the shape and appearance of the belly button can change. Belly button surgery offers a solution to restore or enhance the belly button’s appearance, addressing issues such as stretched skin or changes in shape, helping you achieve their desired post-transformation look.
For individuals experiencing protrusion of the belly button due to excess fat behind the muscles, belly button surgery effectively removes this fat, allowing the belly button to appear more recessed and inwards.
For many of our patients, they opt for our belly button surgery due to concerns surrounding the shape or size of their naval. The appearance of the belly button changes commonly due to pregnancy, dramatic changes in weight, or a piercing. As the belly button is often visible when wearing swimwear, underwear, or during intimacy, those who are self-conscious about this area may avoid certain activities such as swimming or changing in communal areas, and not feel confident in their body with their partners. This may also impact their confidence in intimate relationships.
It is true that belly button surgery is more common than many people may recognise, and we find that we are able to help our patients regain confidence in their appearance with natural-looking results. This procedure can be done as a stand alone or in combination with an abdominoplasty. The scars are well defined and when healed look very natural!
During your Belly Button procedure, you and your surgeon, Dr Helena Antoniadou, will discuss the procedure, the journey process and all the details in between. For our Belly Button surgery, we either utilise sedation with IV or local anaesthesia. You and your surgeon will talk about the best anaesthesia option for you, considering your medical needs and the type and location of the liposuction being performed. Overall, there will be no discomfort for you during the procedure, and it will reduce any risks of remembering any pain from the surgery. Ultimately, the most uncomfortable part of the surgery you will feel is the the moment the anaesthesia IV or injection is inserted.
