Empower yourself and regain confidence with gynaecomastia surgery—a personalised procedure tailored to address gynecomastia and redefine the contours of your chest, resulting in a more masculine appearance. Experience greater comfort and confidence with a chest that aligns with your desired image of yourself.
It’s estimated that approximately 60% of men in the UK experience this condition. While often linked with overweight older individuals, ‘man boobs’ affect younger men and adolescents as well, leading to the development of prominent male breasts. It’s important to note that male breast reduction surgery isn’t intended for weight loss. Those with significant weight concerns may explore lifestyle modifications or weight loss surgery instead.
Gynaecomastia surgery, also known as ‘male chest reduction,’ is a procedure which aims to reduce excess breast tissue and to flatten the male chest. Men, like women, can have an abnormal growth of glandular breast tissue usually because of a hormone imbalance; this can lead to feelings of embarrassment and low self-esteem. Gynaecomastia is usually a combination of glandular excision that involves cutting off most of the male breast tissue and performing liposuction to the chest. Scars are minimal and usually almost invisible, leading to a more defined look in your chest area.
Learn how our Gynaecomastia procedures can boost your confidence, helping you feel and look your best!
Gynecomastia surgery removes excess breast tissue and reshapes the chest, resulting in a more masculine and contoured appearance.
By addressing the physical discomfort and self-consciousness associated with enlarged male breasts, gynecomastia surgery can significantly boost self-esteem and body image, allowing clients to feel more confident in their appearance.
With proper care and maintenance, the results of gynecomastia surgery are typically permanent, providing enduring improvements to the chest contour and overall appearance for years to come.
Following gynecomastia surgery, you can enjoy wearing a wider range of clothing styles with confidence, as they no longer feel they need to conceal or accommodate for enlarged breast tissue.
During this procedure, excess fat, glandular tissue and skin are removed through small incisions under the arm or around the nipple. The operation is performed by our highly experienced and expert surgeon under general anaesthetic and it can take around 90 minutes to perform. The procedure is usually done as a day case, although an overnight stay may be required.
While gynecomastia can stem from normal hormonal fluctuations during adolescence, an imbalance in hormones can also contribute to the condition. Determining the abnormality of a puffy chest hinges on age. Young men may also experience temporary gynecomastia that often resolves without intervention. However, the scenario shifts for men in their twenties and beyond, as excess breast tissue persists. Various factors can lead to enlarged male breast tissue, with hormonal imbalance—resulting from elevated estrogen levels and insufficient testosterone—being a common culprit.
